5 Lighting Upgrades Your Motorcycle Needs

5 Lighting Upgrades Your Motorcycle Needs

Dave Oberst |

Motorcyclists rely on lights to get around safely in the dark. Lighting is a vital part of your bike—even more important than it is for larger vehicles. That’s why it’s worth the investment to upgrade your lighting to match your motorcycle’s needs.

Brighter Taillights

Taillights aren’t meant to make it easier to see the road but instead for other drivers to see you. They don’t shine a lot of light onto the surrounding area, which is important to remember when you upgrade them. Look for options that give off a brighter light, but don’t worry about illuminating the area around you.

High-Temperature Brake Lights

Brake lights are important so other drivers know when you’re slowing down. Upgrade your brake lights so others can easily tell when you’re slowing down to avoid dangerous situations. A great way to do this is to get high-temperature brakes that will shine through and overpower your other lights.

Flowing Turn Signals

Just like brake lights, turn signals display your intent to other drivers. Some systems don’t differentiate lights clearly, which can be confusing to the people driving behind you. Flowing turn signals clearly alert surrounding traffic when you’re switching lanes or turning, and they won’t blend in with your taillights or brake lights.

Long Lasting LED Headlights

Headlights are the most important lights on your bike that you use to see in front of you. You want bright, high-quality lights that fully illuminate your surroundings and last a long time. Many people switch to LED motorcycle headlights because they last thousands of hours.

Extra Lighting

While all of these are great ways to upgrade your motorcycle’s lighting, you can still add more lights. Putting some extra lights on your bike can make it easier for others to see you from various angles and make your bike look that much cooler.

All these upgrades can help you see better and make driving safer. Lighting mods are popular for their usefulness, so you can easily find the lights you need to match your needs and style. There’s no reason why you shouldn’t make some changes to your lighting!
